THE ONES WHO DON’T EXIST
9.-10.DECEMBER
BLAUE & POPPY’S NEW
THOUGHT-PROVOKING SHOW!
The Ones Who Don’t Exist is a love story that looks like a Nollywood movie with the groovy sound of theory. Rumor has it that it’s based on a true story of Blaue & Poppy. Or is it really true? It is truly a mystery. In this side story at SCENE3, we meet Blaue, a megalomaniac whose career is circling the drain, and Poppy, a woman who has reached new peaks in life. Maybe that’s why Blaue wants to literally exterminate the ego of everyone making art? Especially Poppy’s! He advocates that art only blossoms when it’s altruistic, when it exists beyond the ego. When Poppy falls in love with Tani, the director of Det Norske Teatret’s SCENE3, a man who wants to stage her newly written puppet-play, Blaue looses his s*** and becomes even more altruistic, proclaiming that art itself, not Poppy, is the author of the puppet play. Is this a drama of jealousy? Is Blaue a spurned boyfriend radicalized by his hurt, a loser and failed artist? Or is he the leader of an important new movement against the egomaniacs of our time? What are the consequences? Should “the threesome” as Blaue claims, serve as an example and, in a suicidal act, eliminate their egos for good, giving the stage back to art? Or would following Blaue’s call to action be an act of madness, a clandestine crime of passion, or murder? You be the judge… if you dare (to disappear).
